Hattiesburg student hotline and facilities schedule

The university has established a student hotline that students and parents can call for any kind of assistance following Sunday's tornado on the Hattiesburg campus.

The hotline number is 601.266.5000 and will be active starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, and and will be available until 5 p.m. each day.

Temporary and Permanent Campus Housing

Students living off campus who may have experienced damage to their dwellings and have a need for temporary or permanent housing on campus can contact the office of Residence Life at 601.266.4783, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Space is limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis. Callers should identify themselves as USM undergraduate students in need of housing due to the tornado. All students must be currently enrolled at the university in order to be eligible for campus housing.

The following is a schedule of student-related offices, services and locations and their schedules over the next few days:

Union Complex

  • Tuesday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Game Room: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Game Room: 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Fresh Food Company

Tuesday/Wednesday: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Seymour's        

Tuesday/Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Stone's Throw

Wednesday: 6 - 11 p.m.

University Market (Century Park)

Wednesday: 6 - 11 p.m.

Payne Center

  • Monday: Until  8 p.m.
  • Tuesday: Noon - 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 6 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Student Health Clinic

  • Tuesday : 9 a.m. - noon and 1:30 - 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday: normal operating hours
