Benefit-eligible employees will be given time off with pay for those hours the university is closed due to inclement weather. Employees who are on personal or major medical leave during this closing will not be charged for the absence. Employees in non-essential areas are not eligible for any additional pay and should not come to campus.
Areas that are required to work to cover essential services, such as residence life, physical plant, etc., will pay employees who are required to work at a rate of time-and-a-half their regular rate. These employees may elect to take compensatory time off later (on an hour for hour basis) in lieu of the time-and-a-half rate payment.
Temporary employees do not receive pay during closings as they are only paid for actual hours worked.
