Message from University Police: Severe Weather Threat for Friday, Saturday

The University Police Department advises the USM community that the National Weather Service has placed the Hattiesburg campus in an area of moderate risk (4 out of 5) for severe weather expected to begin this evening, Friday, April 9, and continue through Saturday morning, April 10, while all Coastal locations are in a slight to enhanced risk category (2 or 3 out of 5) for severe weather during the same time period.

The primary threats for the Hattiesburg campus will be severe storms, large, baseball-sized hail, damaging winds of up to 70 mph, and a possibility of tornadoes.
