Message from University Police: Marginal Risk for Severe Weather on Wednesday, February 12

The National Weather Service has placed the majority of south Mississippi, including all University of Southern Mississippi locations in Hattiesburg and on the Gulf Coast, under a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather today, expected to begin as early as late this afternoon and continuing into the evening. The main threats will be the possibility of isolated severe storms, flash flooding, and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph. The threat of tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
