Message from UPD: Flash Flood Threat for Friday and Saturday

The University Police Department (UPD) advises all students, faculty and staff on the University’s Hattiesburg campus and Gulf Coast locations to monitor news reports concerning the potential for flash flooding on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 25 and 26. The National Weather Service in Jackson has indicated an elevated risk (2 out of 4) for flash flooding with as much as 3 to 5 inches of rainfall forecast and localized heavier amounts possible. Forrest County, including the Hattiesburg campus, is under a Flash Flood Watch that is expected to continue until at least 1 p.m. on Saturday.
