Message from University Police: Severe Weather Forecasted for Overnight, Thursday Morning

All members of the University community are asked to prepare now for the potential of severe weather, beginning overnight and in the early morning hours on Thursday, April 23. The National Weather Service has indicated a slight risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather for much of the state of Mississippi, including the Hattiesburg campus, while USM’s locations on the Gulf Coast are either in the slight or enhanced (3 out of 5) risk category.

Individuals should prepare for the possibility of heavy rain, high wind gusts, hail, flash flooding, and tornadoes.
