Message from University Police: National Weather Service Raises Threat Level for Severe Weather on Sunday

The National Weather Service has raised the threat level of severe weather to the moderate risk category (4 out of 5) for portions of central and south Mississippi, including the Hattiesburg area, on Sunday, April 19, between late morning and late evening hours. This weather system could produce damaging winds of up to 70 mph, tennis ball-size hail, and tornadoes. This area is also under a limited threat of 1-3 inches of rainfall.

The University’s Gulf Coast locations remain in an enhanced risk category (3 out of 5).
