Message from University Police: Severe Weather Forecast for Monday and Tuesday in Pine Belt

The National Weather Service predicts that two severe weather systems will move through the Pine Belt late this afternoon and around midnight, and again Tuesday at the same times. Depending on the speed of the storms, these systems could arrive earlier or later and bring heavy rain, high winds, tornadoes, hail and flash flooding. Area residents are asked to monitor each system closely and take precautions. Should conditions develop into an emergency situation, The University of Southern Mississippi’s Eagle Alert communications system will be activated.
