Severe Weather May Impact Southern Miss Campuses, Teaching Sites Today-Thursday (May 3-4)

Please be advised that two severe weather systems are predicted to move through South Mississippi today and early tomorrow morning, the first starting this afternoon along and south of the I-10 corridor, and the second affecting the entire area beginning this evening. These two systems have the potential to bring isolated tornadoes, large hail, heavy rain, high winds and flash flooding to low-lying areas. Poor drainage, ponding and a rise in local rivers and streams could also occur. The system is expected to affect The University of Southern Mississippi's campuses and teaching sites.
