Potential for Severe Weather Forecast for South Mississippi Feb. 2

The National Weather Service in Jackson has placed South Mississippi at an elevated risk for severe weather today with the potential for wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour, heavy rainfall that could cause flash flooding, 3-inch diameter sized hail and the possibility of tornadoes. This weather system is expected to move through late this afternoon and in the evening and be more severe north of Interstate 20 in the central part of the state.
